Kinneret by Be'eri Moalem was written for Duo Revirado, with Thomas Yee on violin and Jose Rodriguez on guitar.

Kinneret is the name for the Sea of the Galilee, the only substantial freshwater lake in Israel and where Jesus purportedly walked on water. Kinnor is the Hebrew word for violin, but may also refer to other stringed instruments.  The relation between Kinnor and Kinneret is unkown.  Some say the lake is shaped like a harp and others say that the name refers to a type of wood that used to grow there.  Presently the lake is a source of political contention in a land where enemies are plenty and water is scarce.  At the same time it is also nourishes and waters agriculture.

The music quickly veers from anxious dissonant moods to peaceful melodies with influences from middle eastern music, Western classical music, and a bit of Jazz.

The composition was composed in December 2009 - January 2010. It was premiered at the Red Poppy Art House in San Francisco on March 11th, 2010, and has since been played in Palo Alto, Ensenada, and Tijuana, where it was featured on the radio.
